Sufi Talks Quote of the Week
Answer a deeper call. Train in the authentic Shaolin system within a Moroccan family home—a sanctuary forged by one man’s extraordinary journey from Silicon Valley to Shaolin.
The Sanctuary Was Born From a Sacred Mandate.
Hicham ‘Sham’ Essadki answered a spiritual call. Leaving his life as a Silicon Valley entrepreneur, he traveled to China with his Sufi master’s blessing to immerse himself in the Shaolin health and martial systems. He earned his Shifu’s permission to teach, fulfilling a mandate for authentic transmission.
Now, he completes the circle by opening his family home in Marrakech. This is not a commercial retreat. It is a sanctuary, built to offer what he was sent to find: serious training and sacred hospitality.
But this isn't about his ending. It's about your beginning.
Sham created this sanctuary so you don't have to make the arduous pilgrimage alone. Here, you receive the direct lineage of skill and spirit he was entrusted to carry—all offered with the profound welcome of a Moroccan household.
WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU?
A Path Unblocked.
This is for those who feel their progress has plateaued—in their art, their discipline, their inner life. Who are tired of superficial routines and seek a training ground that connects body, mind, and purpose. Here, you will:
· Train a Complete Martial Path: Integrate genuine Shaolin Kung Fu, Tai Chi, Qi Gong, and Kickboxing with power training and personalized meditation. This is a holistic system, born from pilgrimage, not a collection of classes.
· Experience 'Sacred Hospitality': Live and train as an honored guest in a family home. Find the focus that comes from being fully supported in a space of deep respect.
· Make Tangible, Rapid Progress: With direct, personal transmission from Sham, break through plateaus. This is the continuation of a physical, intellectual and spiritual path—and you are invited to step onto it and partake as much as you would like to. Your objectives are our #1 priority.

Tai Chi is an ancient internal martial art taught at Koom to align the mind and body, preparing us for growth.

We work extensively with Qi Gong, a meditation based on stillness and strength.

We use a range of meditations from different philosophies to deepen our mind-body connection.

Quinna is a Chinese martial art similar to Aikido, centered on harmonizing an opponent's force to neutralize aggression without harming them.

Shaolin Kung Fu, originating from the Shaolin Temple, is a comprehensive martial art known for its rigorous physical training, acrobatic techniques, and self-defense skills.

Sanda, also known as Chinese kickboxing, is an ancestral fighting system incorporating punches, kicks, throws, grappling and floor submission techniques.
